The 2011 Pommard Les Vignots was bottled December 2012. It has a complex, slightly earthy bouquet with subtle marine influences, defined and focused with hints of black olive emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine focus, imbued with an Oriental edge (hoisin) which is folded into a fine silky finish. Drink now-2020.Inc. VAT£9,009.62 -

Good deep ruby. Rich aromas of currant and graphite minerality. Lush, round and large-scaled, with strong rocky and mineral qualities adding interest to its very sexy flavors of black raspberry and spices. Dry, classic, powerful cabernet whose broad tannins are amazingly supple for Mount Veeder. Finishes subtle and extremely long. An excellent vintage for this bottling, which is from vines planted at 1,700 feet.Inc. VAT£2,479.24 -

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder is as compelling a Cabernet Sauvignon as one could ever hope to taste. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a high-elevation site boasts an inky/purple color, and smells of ink, blueberry liqueur, blackberries, black raspberries, mulberries, licorice, charcoal and camphor. With magnificent fruit richness, a layered, full-bodied mouthfeel, and incredible length, this seamlessly constructed 2012 should provide immense pleasure for 25+ years. Kudos to winemaker Chris Carpenter as he is clearly at the top of his game.Inc. VAT£2,269.24 -
Jeb Dunnuck (100)
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder is beautifully complete, with a layered, multi-dimensional, elegant profile that's more structured than the Diamond Mountain, yet more seamless and approachable than the Howell Mountain. Crème de cassis, Asian spice, smoked earth, incense and sandalwood note all flow to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that has no hard edges, ultra-fine tannin, incredible purity of fruit, and a great finish. As with all these 2014s, it's not about huge richness and opulence and more about purity, nuance and balance. It's a damn near perfect wine that will only get better with 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for three to four decades.Inc. VAT£1,205.54 -
Wine Advocate (100)
Very deep inky purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder is a little youthfully reticent at this stage, offering glimpses at freshly crushed black currants, black berries and plums with touches of dried Provence herbs, menthol, cigar boxes and Indian spices. Full-bodied with very firm, very ripe tannins and an incredible core of black fruit, earth and spice layers, it has wonderful freshness and depth, finishing long and multilayered. 618 cases produced.Inc. Unfortunately, there won’t be a 2017 due to the fires, but the perfect 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder should certain tide you over. This literally off-the-charts effort is a good as Cabernet Sauvignon gets, offering complex blueberry and blackberry fruits, violets, bay leaf, and forest floor aromas and flavors. It’s a big, structured mountain Cabernet, yet it has a seamless texture, incredible elegance paired with full-bodied power, building tannins, and a great, great finish. Hide bottles for 4-5 years and it will keep for 3+ decades. Good luck keeping your hands off it, though. Anticipated maturity: 2023-2051Inc. VAT£1,307.54 -

Blackberries, herbs, green pine needles, blackcurrants and lead pencil. Full-bodied with incredible structure and powerful tannins. It goes on for minutes. The structure is something else. Muscular, but the tannins give form and focus to the beautiful fruit. Mountain-grown Latour! Extraordinary. Try after 2026.Inc. VAT£1,323.62 -

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-96)
A crisp bright purple colour. This has a gorgeous purity and precision, a ravishing lifted red fruit intensity, good acidity and well ripened tannins. Very elegant yet intense Chambolle, with a beautiful finish. Tasted: November 2021Inc. VAT£728.69 -
Burghound (91-94)
A notably fresher nose offers up notes of various red berries along with a plentitude of floral nuances. There is also better energy on the palate of the medium-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality on the saline and lingering if again mildly rustic finish. With that said, this is much better-balanced.Inc. VAT£1,225.24 -
Burghound (92-94)
A top note of menthol is present on the earthy and floral aromas of red currant, dark pinot and leather. The slightly finer and more voluminous flavors don't offer the same minerality though there is notably better depth on the compact, serious and built-to-age finish. This classy and suave effort is extremely promising if you're prepared to wait.Inc. VAT£919.24 -

As an expert fine wine connoisseur, I must extol the virtues of the Maxime Cheurlin Noellat Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019. This exquisite wine hails from the heart of France's famed Burgundy region, a testament to Cheurlin Noellat's domain of centuries-old vineyards. The product of meticulous viticulture and traditional winemaking techniques, Maxime Cheurlin himself supervises the wine's development. The sublime Pinot Noir grapes are harvested manually and ferment naturally in wooden casks, a process that gives the wine its distinct character. On the palate, the Maxime Cheurlin Noellat Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019 offers a refined mix of black cherry and red berry notes, complemented by a delicate touch of earthiness and balanced tannin structure. Its admirable ageing potential and remarkable eloquence make it a coveted addition to any cellars. The Maxime Cheurlin Noellat Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019 stands as a splendid embodiment of Burgundy's classic virtues and Maxime’s committed steering of his ancestral legacy.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is a huge, dark wine. Virile, imposing and massively structured in the glass, the 2013 is a wine for readers who can be patient. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive, with potent tannins and a real feeling of gravitas to back things up. Black cherry, game, smoke, gravel and licorice add to an impression of brooding intensity. In many ways, the 2013 reminds me of some of the great wines of the 1970s in its dark, imposing personality.Inc. VAT£1,766.47 -

These vines were under a fermage agreement with the M o-Camuzet n gociant arm for almost 20 years. Alas, they were taken back in 2021. So, this is the last bottling of this wine. It's a shame, because it is thoroughly charming with the dignified lightness that Chambolle often brings along with heady perfume. Here are aromas of mulberries, cherry preserves, dried flowers and cocoa bordered by fluffy tannins and suave acidity. 2022-30Inc. VAT£1,039.24 -

Aromas of cherries, spices and rich soil tones introduce the 2019 Bourgogne Côte d'Or Pinot Noir, a medium-bodied, supple and charming wine that's lively and expressive, with succulent acids and a pretty core of fragrant fruit. (mostly from Pr meaux vines). Ripe aromas of various dark berries, warm earth and a whiff of the sauvage lead to attractively textured and rich flavors that possess fine mid-palate density, all wrapped in a rustic and robust finish that offers better than average complexity for a wine at this level. A fresh and ripe nose combines notes of plum and dark cherry with those of earth, subtle wood and a cool spice wisp. The 1999 Pommard 1er Cru Les Grands Epenots is a stunning young wine that is still a decade away from full maturity but is already giving the full measure of its potential, exhibiting a superb bouquet of dark chocolate, ripe wild berries, rich soil, summer truffles and grilled ceps. On the palate, it's full-bodied, multidimensional and concentrated, with incredible depth and dimension at the core, framed by rich structuring tannins and concluding with a long and still youthfully chewy finish. The 2017 Pommard 1er Cru Les Grands Epenots has also turned out beautifully, mingling aromas of cherries, raspberries and orange rind with nuances of peonies, smoked meat, grilled ceps and espresso roast.
