Burghound (95)A very ripe nose features notes of plum, cassis, humus, forest floor and violet. The velvet-textured, concentrated and very serious big-bodied flavors possess seemingly endless reserves of sappy dry extract which helps to buffer the very firm tannic spine on the mocha-infused finish. This beautifully complex effort is less austere than it usually is at this point though the structure makes it pointedly clear that this is going to age for a very long time. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (95-97)Full ripe purple with a classy lively nose. Purity and precision, this is really smart wine, as it has been produced just from their better block. Racy and fresh, 30% whole bunch vinification has worked very well. Excellent length. |

Jancis Robinson (17.5)Two parcels, one close to the tower and one at the bottom which they keep separate for quite a while. In hot, dry years such as 2019 and 2020 the bottom bit does very well because it retains moisture. 20% bought in. Final blend in tank, to be bottled by mid February 2021. Refined, high-toned nose with a meaty undertow. Then a notably sweet palate attack and quite chunky and forceful. Some whole-bunch influence. Clearly a grand cru. Still youthful with a lightly spicy nose. Lots of energy. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-95)Raised in 30% new wood and 70% 1 year old. Solid purple with medium depth. The nose starts on the oak and soon moves to the fruit. Very succulent again, smoothly balanced with a firm grip to the tannins. Yet it is suavely put together. High class, and it certainly has the length. Tasted: October 2019 |

Wine Advocate (86-88)The 2015 Pommard Les Perrières has quite a rich bouquet with touches of fig infusing the kirsch and cassis aromas. The palate is sweet on the entry with bold tannin, moderate complexity with a firm, slightly confit-like finish that needs to muster a little more precision. Not bad, although maybe just picked a day or two too late? Let's see. |

Wine Advocate (90)The 2011 Pommard Les Vignots was bottled December 2012. It has a complex, slightly earthy bouquet with subtle marine influences, defined and focused with hints of black olive emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine focus, imbued with an Oriental edge (hoisin) which is folded into a fine silky finish. Drink now-2020. |

Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (91-94)Good medium red. Expressive aromas of black cherry, licorice and menthol; reduced today but very Clos Vougeot. Vinous (93-95)The 2012 Clos Vougeot is one of the most impressive of the Grand Crus I tasted at Jadot this year. Powerful, rich and layered, the 2012 has more than enough fruit to balance the tannins. Dark red fruit, scorched earth, chalk and iron are all layered into the supple, racy finish. This is a surprisingly finessed Clos Vougeot. Hints of rose petal and mint add lift on the close. There is so much to admire here. |

Burghound (91-94)A notably fresher nose offers up notes of various red berries along with a plentitude of floral nuances. Burghound (92-94)A top note of menthol is present on the earthy and floral aromas of red currant, dark pinot and leather. The slightly finer and more voluminous flavors don't offer the same minerality though there is notably better depth on the compact, serious and built-to-age finish. This classy and suave effort is extremely promising if you're prepared to wait. |

Vinous (93-95)The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vides Bourses 1er Cru presents a complex nose of citrus fruit, popcorn and a touch of grilled walnut, all very well defined and terroir-expressive. This is a class act, but try to resist temptation for the first 4–5 years. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes Rouge comes from low-yielding 80-year-old vines that offered just 30hl/ha in this vintage. It has a lovely nose of dark cherries, raspberry and bergamot, nicely defined and more elegant than the other two reds that I tasted from Damien Colin. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, gentle and unimposing with a mixture of red and black fruit laced with chalk towards the finish. Fine and quite nuanced. |

Burghound (93)Sweet Spot Outstanding. Cooler and airier aromas of restrained green fruit, essence of lemon zest and lovely spice nuances give way to rich, concentrated and almost painfully intense medium weight flavors that brim with minerality on the balanced, clean and moderately dry finale. Vinous (91-93)The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet En Virondot 1er Cru, which was severely affected by frost, has a pretty blackcurrant leaf and candy floss-tinged bouquet, well-defined and seductive even at this early stage. The palate is well balanced with sour lemon and lime on the entry, fine depth, quite spicy and lively with orange rind and quince; touches of peach appear toward the satisfying finish. What survived the onslaught of frost is worth seeking out. |

Vinous (89-91)The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru sees around 20-25% new oak. The nose offers lemon verbena, pear and a touch of nectarine, unfolding in the glass with neatly integrated oak. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite linear and strict with a touch of stem ginger and towards the waxy finish. Tim Atkin MW (94)These vines were under a fermage agreement with the M o-Camuzet n gociant arm for almost 20 years. Alas, they were taken back in 2021. So, this is the last bottling of this wine. It's a shame, because it is thoroughly charming with the dignified lightness that Chambolle often brings along with heady perfume. Here are aromas of mulberries, cherry preserves, dried flowers and cocoa bordered by fluffy tannins and suave acidity. 2022-30 |
