Wine Advocate (92-94)From one of the prime terroirs in the appellation, the 2015 Côte Rôtie Lancement is another full-bodied, modern-styled beauty from this team. Violets, plums, incense and exotics spices all emerge from the glass and it has ripe, sweet tannin and a great finish. Made from 100% Syrah aged two years in new Burgundy barrels, it should have two decades of longevity. |

The exquisite Stephane Otheguy Cote Rotie Les Massales 2017, hails from the premier wine region of Northern Rhone Valley, France. Renowned viticulturalist Stephane Otheguy meticulously employs traditional vinification methods to enhance this elegant, full-bodied Syrah's influencing prowess. The hand-harvested grapes, matured on steep schistous slopes, yield intense flavours. This vintage is particularly favoured for its dark, rich robe and the voluptuous palate of blackberry, blackcurrant, and violet tempered with mild spice and smoke. It is an artful representation of Stephane's significant respect for his ancestral terroir, his masterful skillset and devotion to natural winemaking. This enviable expertise awards the Stephane Otheguy Cote Rotie Les Massales 2017 the rare ability to both astound in its youth and ascend to greater intricacy over several years of careful cellaring. Vinous (90-92)The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanchot-Dessus 1er Cru come across a bit sultry on the nose despite coaxing. White flowers, fresh white linen and citrus scents eventually emerge. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and quite saline, perhaps it just need a little more complexity towards the finish, but otherwise this is well-crafted. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-94)Pure powerful lemon yellow, and there is power too to the yellow fruit of the bouquet. Very backward in its elevage at the moment. Quite high acidity, this 2021 Blanchot has all the constituent parts, but not quite in place as yet. Drink from 2026-2031. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Le Cailleret 1er Cru shows a little more reduction on the nose than the Morgeots, although there is good concentration here. The palate is quite vibrant on the entry with lemon zest, quince and a touch of orange pith. Plenty of energy, well focused with a saline finish, this is a fine Chassagne from Girardin. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet La Romanée 1er Cru is more reserved on the nose, but well defined with crushed stone and touches of pressed flowers and chai. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, much more linear, almost Puligny-like in style thanks to the calcaire terroir on the finish. Vivid and animated. |

A phenomenal Chassagne, but we have come to expect nothing else from Girardin in recent years. Fine-grained and mineral-driven with medium weight flavours and solid delineation on the complex and persistent finish. This is quite dry and intense given the heat of the vintage and sufficiently firm that we would suggest allowing it at least a few years of cellar time first.
