Coming from vines around the estate, high up on Pritchard Hill, it builds beautifully on the palate and is full-bodied and massively concentrated, yet has stunning balance as well as polished, silky tannins. Enough can’t be said about the quality coming from this estate, and this is another magical wine that will stand up to the greatest Cabernets in the world. It’s hard to understand how this incredible wine was produced in a vintage like 2017. Revealing a deep purple color as well as a monster bouquet of blackberries, orange blossom, smoked meat, bacon fat, and spring flower, it's deep, full-bodied, and beautifully pure on the palate, with silky tannins and a singular, exotic character. Offers compelling sweetness while retaining a firm shape, finishing long and aromatic, with very suave, harmonious tannins. A deep, dense, powerful wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Tychson Hill exudes pure richness. Even with all of its obvious intensity, the 2013 is remarkably balanced for such a young wine. The 2013 should drink well with just a few more years in bottle. There is no shortage of intensity, but, somewhat uncharacteristically, the Tychson Hill is the least opulent of these four wines. The 2014 has closed down considerably after bottling. From barrel, it was nuanced, classy and super-polished. I suspect it will be all of those things again in a number of years. Dollops of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot round out the blend.Inc. Surprisingly silky and broad, with its red fruit and smoke flavors joined by a note of milk chocolate. The wine's substantial dusty but ultimately refined tannins currently shorten its finish but there's enough mid-palate density here for this wine to come into balance with bottle aging. The 2019 Pommard Clos des Epeneaux 1er Cru was bottled in June and July ‘21. Very perfumed and floral scents on the nose, dark cherries, bergamot, damp earth and touches of clove, later hints of violet and blood orange (traits that I observed out of barrel). The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, and quite compact in style because, as François Millet noted, these 2017s are beginning to close down. It has a heavenly bouquet distantly related to the Les Amoureuses, offering precocious but detailed blueberry, black cherry, crushed iris petal and crushed limestone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with an edgy, marine-influenced opening, a tang of shucked oyster shells infusing the black and blueberry fruit, leading to a detailed, tensile, lightly spiced finish. 50% whole bunch. A medium deep purple with a lovely perfume, some darker fruit, actually quite sensual. A middling weight of deep sensual fruit then a much livelier finish, some citrus notes, with a finish which is entirely in red fruit. Very persistent indeed. A bit of a mysterious wine as there is so little of it and wasn't even made for 20 years while the new vines were settling in, this is always a treat to taste. This is the seventh commercialized vintage with the revitalized vineyard, and it is utterly charming. Starting with match strike and Comice pear, the palate doubles down with riper flavors – including tropical fruits – and plentiful fresh herb lift. The 2020 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has a very tight nose at first, opening with black cherries, iodine, peony and inky scents. Quintessentially Bonnes Mares. The palate is quite dense on the entry, slightly lactic in texture with hints of dark chocolate infusing the dark berry fruit, the finish structured and more Morey-like in style. 50% whole bunch. A medium deep purple with a lovely perfume, some darker fruit, actually quite sensual. A middling weight of deep sensual fruit then a much livelier finish, some citrus notes, with a finish which is entirely in red fruit. Very persistent indeed. The de Vogüé holding is on the red Bonnes Mares soil with some depth, but the wine is lively and with a white pepper finish.In Bond£1,615.00 -

A rich mid purple with a deliciously heady bouquet, the sumptuous side of dark raspberry, perfumed yet precise, purple fruit with some redder layers beneath, a little white pepper spice, multiple layers of fruit, very engaging with just a very slight youthful bitterness. The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, from the young vines in Musigny, has more intensity than the Village Cru, coming across slightly more opaque and secretive. The palate is beautifully balanced with saturated tannin and a fine thread of acidity. Full of energy that flows through the sorbet-fresh finish, and silky-smooth in texture. A bit of a mysterious wine as there is so little of it and wasn't even made for 20 years while the new vines were settling in, this is always a treat to taste. This is the seventh commercialized vintage with the revitalized vineyard, and it is utterly charming. Starting with match strike and Comice pear, the palate doubles down with riper flavors – including tropical fruits – and plentiful fresh herb lift. The well-knit acidity meshes seamlessly with the medium body lightly brushed with classy oak. It finishes long, dry and refreshing. 2023-34In Bond£3,631.00
