  • Haut-Brion Blanc 2015 (6x75cl)

    The Wine Cellar Insider (99)

With a depth of flavor, you find multiple layers of juicy, fresh, pomelo, green apple, honeysuckle, crushed rocks and ripe pears. It is hard to say if it is the purity, length, complexity or richness which knocks me out the most. The wine impossibly hard to find, and incredibly expensive, but for wine lovers without a budget, this is the equal of just about any great white wine in the world.

  • Jean Faure 2015 (1x150cl)

    Vinous - Neal Martin (91)

The 2015 Jean Faure has a very pleasant, youthful bouquet, delivering plenty of raspberry, wild strawberry, melted tar and cedar notes that possess more complexity than the previous vintage. The medium-bodied, finely tuned palate offers fine-grained tannins, well-judged acidity and a silky-smooth, mineral-rich finish (in fact, this is the most mineral-driven Jean Faure that I have tasted). This is an excellent 2015 that is drinking beautifully now, but it will offer another decade of drinking pleasure.

  • L'Eglise-Clinet 2015 (6x75cl)

    Decanter (100)

Notes of cassis, bilberry, damson, charcoal and liquorice, with pure blackberry juice filling the crevices in between. The tannins are firm but flexible, allowing for some lightness. Hugely complex, but still hugely young. This vintage was made from the first year of the full maturity for these young vines – now 14 years old, 3.55pH. At this youthful stage you can feel the smoky, grilled brush of the oak, which is 70% new, with medium toast, and it’s double toasted to ensure there are no vanillin flavours. This wine will climb upwards and outwards towards the horizon, staking a claim for greatness in 2015.

Stunning aromas of blackberries, black olives, brown sugar and dried flowers. Tar. Full-bodied, dense and layered. Superfine tannins, yet this is muscular and long. An amazing wine reminiscent of the great L’Evangiles of the 1950s. Straight track. Goes on and on. Truly great wine. Try in 2024. Just a baby.

  • La Clotte 2015 (12x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (95+)

This was the first vintage for the Vauthier family of Château Ausone off this tiny three-hectare estate. Composed of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 85% new, the 2015 La Clotte displays a medium to deep garnet-purple color and a very spicy nose of cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise and allspice over core of red and black currants, mulberries and black soil plus a waft of violets. Full-bodied and decadently fruited with a firm backbone of very ripe, beautifully velvety tannins, it has a lively backbone providing loads of lift throughout the very long finish.

  • La Croix de Gay 2015 (12x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93)

Just as it showed from barrel, the La Croix de Gay is powerful and structured to the core. There is tremendous depth to the red cherry and plum fruit, while the aromatics offer a good deal of nuance, with hints of cedar, tobacco and dried herbs that add complexity throughout. Readers should expect a brooding, reticent Pomerol that demands cellaring. There is not a whole lot of immediacy or sexiness here, at least not today. Even so, the 2015 has turned out beautifully.

Denis Durantou's 2015 La Petite Eglise is just as compelling from bottle as it was from barrel. Classy, polished and super-refined in every way, the Petite Eglise is all class. The bright red cherry, hard candy, mint and rose petal notes are beautifully delineated throughout. Even with all of its obvious fruit density, the 2015 remains light on its feet and gracious. There is no question Petite Eglise is one of the best second wines in 2015. Actually, Petite Eglise is not really a terrific second wine, it is simply a gorgeous Pomerol. That's all there is to it.

The balanced palate features gorgeous dried mango, peach and white pepper notes. The acidity is supremely well judged, and a wonderful spiciness dominates the persistent finish. Compelling. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

  • La Petite Eglise 2015 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93)

  • Lafite Rothschild 2015 (12x75cl)

    Wine Enthusiast (100)

This is a great vintage from Lafite. The profile is rich in feel, with a seriously firm tannic structure. Solid, complex and with great authority, this Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant wine is impressively dense in dark-fruit tones. It will age for many years. Drink from 2027, although that would almost be too soon.
