  • Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots 2009 (12x75cl)

    Burghound (92)

A lightly spiced nose of red currant cassis and violet aromas is trimmed in soft wood notes that precede the supple and moderately well-concentrated yet relatively fine medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent depth and length in a well-balanced package. Like its 2010 counterpart it is only on the finish does the robustness of a classic Nuits arrive and overall, this is really fine juice with excellent cellaring potential.

  • Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porrets St-Georges 2011 (12x75cl)

    Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (90-92)

Good bright, deep red. Blackberry, minerals and crushed stone on the nose. Densely packed and concentrated, with savory dark berry, floral and licorice flavors leading to a youthfully powerful if rather strict finish. Classic sturdy Nuits-Saint-Georges but with lovely energy and finesse to its fruit. The big tannins spread out on the back end, yet the wine maintains a light touch.

  • Jacques-Frederic Mugnier Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Marechale 2009 (12x75cl)

    Jancis Robinson (17)

Very charming, pure, intense fruit (more intense and rather riper than usual for this wine) with tannins still a little more evident than I would have expected. Lots of fun and a versatile wine to enjoy with fish main courses.

  • Perrot Minot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru la Richemone Cuvee Ultra Vieilles Vigne 2010 (12x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (92-94)

The 2010 Nuits St. Georges La Richemone Ultra, from a vineyard planted in 1902, is super-finessed and classy. The fruit seems to hover on the palate. Dark cherries, plums, sweet spices and mint are some of the many notes that come together in the glass. The precise, understated finish is beautifully articulated. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030.

  • Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Roncieres 2017 (12x75cl)

    Decanter (95)

This premier cru's position on the south side of Nuits, just below Les Perrières, means that it has a high limestone content and it shows in the freshness of the resulting wine. It's bright, perfumed and focussed, with stylish 30% new wood integration, plenty of structure and depth and a poised finish.

The communes of Nuits Saint Georges and Premeaux-Prissey combine to produce both red and white wines in the appellation of Nuits Saint Georges on the Cote de Nuits. There are no Grand Cru vineyards in Nuits Saint Georges but the wines from the premier crus bordering Vosne-Romanee are often the most sought after due to their “Vosne-like” finesse.
