Vinous (87-89)(a blend of eight vineyards): Bright medium red. Very dark aromas of black cherry, blackberry, licorice, herbs and spices. A juicy, youthfully tight midweight with a firm spine of dusty tannins and sneaky persistence. (Incidentally, the 2014 Bourgogne Rouge showed sexy red fruit flavors in a round, juicy style and should offer early pleasure. ) |

Burghound (92)A lightly spiced nose of red currant cassis and violet aromas is trimmed in soft wood notes that precede the supple and moderately well-concentrated yet relatively fine medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent depth and length in a well-balanced package. Like its 2010 counterpart it is only on the finish does the robustness of a classic Nuits arrive and overall, this is really fine juice with excellent cellaring potential. |

Vinous (89-91)Bright, dark red. Attractive lift to the raspberry and floral aromas; this could hardly be more different from the village Gevrey. At once dense and creamy-sweet, conveying very good energy to the dark berry and floral flavors. Finishes bright and long, with substantial ripe, dusty tannins. Cheurlin produced just 29 hectoliters per hectares here, owing to the estate's high percentage of old vines. |

Jancis Robinson (17)Very charming, pure, intense fruit (more intense and rather riper than usual for this wine) with tannins still a little more evident than I would have expected. Lots of fun and a versatile wine to enjoy with fish main courses. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2011 Nuits St. Georges Les Pruliers is unusually refined and polished for a young Pruliers. Sweet dark cherries, exotic spices, licorice and mint are all layered together beautifully in this silky, polished Burgundy. Medium in body, the Pruliers achieves a rare balance of fruit, acidity and tannin that is remarkable. I imagine the 2011 will drink well relatively early as it is so harmonious, but there is also clearly potential for aging. |

Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2010 Nuits St. Georges La Richemone Ultra, from a vineyard planted in 1902, is super-finessed and classy. The fruit seems to hover on the palate. Dark cherries, plums, sweet spices and mint are some of the many notes that come together in the glass. The precise, understated finish is beautifully articulated. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. |

Decanter (95)This premier cru's position on the south side of Nuits, just below Les Perrières, means that it has a high limestone content and it shows in the freshness of the resulting wine. It's bright, perfumed and focussed, with stylish 30% new wood integration, plenty of structure and depth and a poised finish. |
