Nuits-St-Georges
Nuits-St-Georges
-
Burghound (92)
A lightly spiced nose of red currant cassis and violet aromas is trimmed in soft wood notes that precede the supple and moderately well-concentrated yet relatively fine medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent depth and length in a well-balanced package. Like its 2010 counterpart it is only on the finish does the robustness of a classic Nuits arrive and overall, this is really fine juice with excellent cellaring potential.Inc. VAT£8,234.47 -
Vinous (92-94)
Bright red. Ripe, musky aromas of red berries, minerals and rust. Suave and creamy-sweet in the mouth, with an almost jammy ripeness but also very good framing acidity to the crunchy red berry flavors. Perhaps a bit youthfully disassociated at present, not to mention firmly tannic on the back end, yet this is easier to taste today than the Vaucrains owing to its sheer sex appeal. Offers superb potential.Inc. VAT£1,148.44 -
Jancis Robinson (17)
Very charming, pure, intense fruit (more intense and rather riper than usual for this wine) with tannins still a little more evident than I would have expected. Lots of fun and a versatile wine to enjoy with fish main courses.Inc. VAT£3,529.27 -

Vinous (92-94)
A very different side of Nuits St. Georges emerges from the 2013 Aux Murgers. Here it is the wine's broad, ample texture that stands out. Silky tannins wrap around the creamy finish in an expansive, generous Burgundy that is likely to provide readers will a long drinking window of pure pleasure.Inc. VAT£2,601.64
