Vinous (96-98)The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 1er Cru, matured in seven new barrels, is beautifully-defined on the nose with precocious, penetrating dark cherry, raspberry and violet aromas that envelop the olfactory senses. The palate is harmonious and intense, silky-smooth in texture with better acidity and tension than some of Rouget's other cuvées. Layers of penetrating, sorbet-fresh red fruit are lavish yet very focused with a long and persistant peacock's tail finish. Wonderful. 14.5% alcohol according to Emmanuel Rouget. |

Vinous (92-94)Though the 2021 Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 1er Cru was racked mid-July, this still has quite a lot of reduction on the nose that renders it difficult to read. The palate is velvety smooth, fine acidity, decent concentration with layers of dark berry fruit, quite candied with a touch of dark chocolate towards the finish. This is very fine. |

Wine Advocate (89-91)The 2014 Vosne-Romanée Village was showing a little more wood on the nose compared to the Nuits Saint Georges Village, hints of dried blood infusing the red berry fruit. The palate is well balanced, a little grainy with dark berries (bilberry and boysenberry) suffused with sous-bois on the finish. Hopefully it will evolve more cohesion during the remainder of its élevage. There is substance here, but the component parts need to knit together. |

Wine Advocate (90-92)The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with aromas of raspberries, exotic spices, orange rind and smoked duck, deftly framed by the subtle imprint of some 30% new oak. Wine Advocate (94)Tasted blind, the 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées also put in a superb performance, unfurling in the glass with an attractive bouquet of ripe red berries, incense and candied peel, framed by a touch of light reduction that segues into sapid bass notes of smoked duck. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, lavish and multidimensional, with supple tannins, a dramatic core of fruit and succulent underlying acids. This is a very promising Brûlées from Domaine d'Eugénie. |

Vinous (91-94)(13.3 alcohol; 40% vendange entier; 80% new oak; no frost): Good dark red. A bit redder and more showy in its fruit character and less medicinal on the nose than the Petits Monts. Rounder and sweeter in the mouth, with a palate-saturating flavor of dark cherry confiture. Builds impressively on the ripely tannic back end, with a strong violet note emerging. Very different from the Petits Monts in shape and style: this is rounder while the Petits Monts is more minerally and upright. |

Vinous (89-91)The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru comes from just over half a hectare of vine split over two parcels. It has a pretty bouquet of perfumed red berry fruit laced with pressed rose petals and light sous-bois scents. The palate commences with a fleshy opening, then offers pure red fruit laced with a pinch of spice. Gentle and caressing in the mouth, with a nicely delineated finish. The headline here is just "drinkability," and it will only require a couple of years in bottle. |

Wine Advocate (92)Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts from Domaine François Lamarche has a refined and detailed bouquet: fresh strawberry, cranberry leaf and minerals, all very attractive. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, just a dab of oak to be fully subsumed, but with plenty of weight and volume on the pretty, quite spicy finish. It's just a delicious, well-crafted Vosne-Romanée and one of the best from the domaine in 2012. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-92)Pleasing mid crimson. There is less immediate fruit evident on the nose. Less ripe, stricter, firmer, some citrus notes, middleweight, as ever I don’t quite see the magic at least while this wine is young. More in acidity than tannin to finish. Tasted: December 2021 |

Vinous (89-91)The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru has a tightly wound bouquet of crushed strawberry and touches of orange pith, nicely defined if not as vigorous as the 2016. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red cherry and raspberry preserve on the entry, a slight tingle of licked limestone toward the second half and an easygoing but quite persistent finish. Enjoy this over the next decade. |
