Finishes with nicely buffered dusty tannins and lovely floral persistence. Very refreshing wine. |

Opulent, thick, tactile wine with unexpected sucrosité as well as near-painful intensity to its citrus fruit, peach and floral flavors. Sharply delineated but with plenty of baby fat to buffer its underlying minerality. Colin told me he normally prefers his Genevrières in very warm vintages like 2015, but admits that this wine is surprisingly open today. Will it shut down in bottle? |

The intense and tautly muscular middle weight plus flavors are even more refined if perhaps not quite as mineral-driven while delivering superb length on the balanced but markedly austere finish where a touch of cherry pit emerges. This is also very clearly built-to-age and I wouldn't dream of touching a bottle for at least 10 years and it should easily reward 20. |

The palate is grippy, very tannic, masculine with a grainy texture, hints of bell pepper towards the huge finish that needs more flesh to balance those stems. Still, it is balanced and I am intrigued to see how this will age - this has complexity and a sense of intrigue. |

We found the wines in 2015 very easy and forward to taste, with as much focus on freshness as concentration, so there wasn’t a complete break from the 2014s in that sense. The hope is that as the wines mature they will continue to show the balance and classicism they displayed from the barrel. Our expectation is that they will do so and the best wines will live for a very long time with a genuinely satisfying pattern of maturation throughout their life.
