Oxygen has done wonders for this wine, noted van Canneyt, adding that the rest of the 2013s need air. He planned to rack them into cuves not long after my visit and bottle in January. |

Silky and layered, the 2012 graces the palate with expressive dark red fruit and tons of Chambolle sensuality, all in a hugely attractive, mid-weight style. Pliant and expressive through to the finish, the 2012 should offer a long drinking window of superb drinking. |

Vinous (89-92)(the only one of these 2013s that had been racked and assembled by the time of my visit, as it had been very reduced): Good deep red. Pure but reticent aromas of red fruits and menthol. Silky on entry, then supple and energetic in the mid-palate, with pristine red fruit flavors supported by a stony underpinning. Finishes saline and persistent, with its 50% new oak showing today. Oxygen has done wonders for this wine, noted van Canneyt, adding that the rest of the 2013s need air. He planned to rack them into cuves not long after my visit and bottle in January. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has a seductive nose of plush red berry fruit, peppermint and light orange pithy aromas, displaying fine delineation. The palate is well balanced, open and generous, delivering fleshy red fruit and conveying a sense of lushness and elegance toward the candied finish. This is a gorgeous Les Charmes that will be irresistible in its youth. |

Vinous (87-89)The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru comes across a little reduced on the nose at the moment. Touches of mulch filtering through the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, balanced, slightly bitter and like the Vougeot, just a bit "undernourished" on the finish. |

Wine Advocate (90-92)The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Village, from the usual 11 parcels, has a tightly controlled red cherry and crushed strawberry bouquet with veins of dried rose petal. The palate is crisp on the entry with grainy tannin, beautifully balanced with a poised, winsome finish and a saline aftertaste. It eschews the usual heaviness that can pervade Chambolle premier crus this vintage with a sense of precision. This comes recommended. |
