Vinous (93-95)
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru uses 15% whole bunch from the 25-year-old vines (the rest are 10 years old). It has a fragrant, elegant bouquet of blackberry, briar, sage and subtle oxtail aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, very fine tannins, and here the Les Amoureuses character really shines. Veins of blue fruit and spices burst through on the finish. There is an appealing crescendo to this wine and it should age with style and panache.Inc. VAT£1,224.41 -

Vinous (91-93)
The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, which comes from Mazoyères, has a fragrant, peppermint-tinged bouquet that is more discreet than others I have tasted. You have to coax the aromas from their shell, touches of violet emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and finely tuned acidity. Quite dense and perhaps requiring a little more delineation and complexity to manifest on the conservative finish. It just needs to turn on the Charmes.Inc. VAT£433.45
