Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (94)
Touch of reduction, with flint and gunsmoke adding focus and interest. Stands out for its grip and tension and a feeling of depth to the stone and citrus fruit. Touches of green apple and gooseberry also.Inc. VAT£139.24 -
(6x75cl) 2023
Vinous - Neal Martin (88-90)
The 2023 G de Château Guiraud has a perfumed bouquet with light tropical scents, although there is a bit of oak that shaves away some of its complexity. The palate is malic on the entry and lightly spiced, with a touch of lemongrass and pear on the finish. It could do with more length, but I appreciate the intensity.Expected Price Range£52 - £62 -
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (89)
Light copper color. Oily, pungent, expressive aroma dominated by pineapple syrup; a slightly dank quality quickly dissipated. Thick, resiny and intensely spicy in the mouth, though still rather tightly wound; deeper-pitched and honeyed, with an unusually velvety texture for this wine. Finishes slightly harsh, with a suggestion of phenolics and a bit of heat, plus a sweet note of toffee.Inc. VAT£675.89 -
Wine Spectator (92)
Spicy, with dried apricot and lemon character. Full, yet tight and long. Medium sweet, with a spicy finish. An impressive racy style. Best after 2009. -JSInc. VAT£857.38 -
Wine Spectator (95)
Intense, with candied lemon peel, glazed yellow apple and honey notes streaming through, picking up mirabelle plum and papaya accents through the finish, which is carried by a buried racy streak. This has a good bright feel overall. Best from 2020 through 2040. 5,000 cases made.Inc. VAT£440.44
