Vinous (95)The 2009 Ruchottes-Chambertin was 100% de-stemmed. It has a gorgeous bouquet with vivid scents of plush red cherry fruit, cassis, violets and a hint of vanilla remaining from some new oak to be subsumed. The palate is medium-bodied with an elegant, precise opening. It is embroidered with a perfect thread of acidity and gains momentum towards the finish that feels plush and sensual (not a million miles away from the 1999 stylistically). It needs three or four more years in bottle but there is great potential here. Tasted at the Ruchottes-Chambertin vertical in London. |

Vinous (96)The 2017 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a wonderful bouquet that fulfills its potential from barrel: very well defined, precise and mineral-driven with scents of black cherry, raspberry preserve and crushed stone. The pure, medium-bodied palate offers supple tannins, a silky texture and a caressing, seductive finish that feels very tender and sustained. Superb. |

Burghound (92)A lightly spiced nose of red currant cassis and violet aromas is trimmed in soft wood notes that precede the supple and moderately well-concentrated yet relatively fine medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent depth and length in a well-balanced package. Like its 2010 counterpart it is only on the finish does the robustness of a classic Nuits arrive and overall, this is really fine juice with excellent cellaring potential. |

Vinous (93)The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Chaignots 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet of dark berry fruit, desiccated orange peel and a little rooibos. The new oak is quite prominent and feels a bit reduced. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins, grippy and muscular, perhaps missing some elegance and transparency. The firm finish leaves a spicy aftertaste. Give this three to four years in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. |

Wine Advocate (91)The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village confirms the promise it showed in barrel, wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, red berries, peonies and sweet soil tones. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and satiny, with succulent acids, melting tannins and a long and perfumed finish. While it's deceptively approachable, long-time followers of this cuvée will know that it will amply reward bottle age with enhanced depth and complexity. |

Vinous (94)The 2009 Clos de Vougeot is a huge, huge Burgundy. It will need considerable time to shed its baby fat and its considerable tannin. The 2009 boasts incredible depth and richness, with layers of dark red fruit that saturate the palate through to the finish. The 2009 is a super impressive showing from the Mugneret sisters. This is an intense style of Clos de Vougeot that has also maintained considerable freshness. |

Wine Advocate (95)The 2009 Echezeaux comes across as rich, powerful and totally seductive. It shows considerable richness and depth in a more immediate style than the 2010. The aromatics and nuance of the 2010 are missing, but in exchange readers will find a deep, fleshy wine that will deliver considerable pleasure with minimum cellaring. I especially like the intensity of the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2034. |
