Margaux
Margaux, the largest AOC in Médoc, is a significant wine appellation in Bordeaux with 20 Cru Classé properties from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, more than any other Left Bank AOCs. The region is home to the world-renowned Château Margaux, along with other blue-chip wineries like Château Palmer and Château Rauzan Ségla. Margaux's soils have a high gravel content, offering excellent drainage and low nutrient levels compared to Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe. This unique terroir produces refined and elegant wines that are distinct from other regions of Bordeaux.
We are proud to offer a diverse selection of Margaux wines, each with its own unique character and flavor profile. From the rich and powerful Cabernet Sauvignon blends to the silky and smooth Merlot-dominant wines, our Margaux wines are crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail. Experience the elegance and refinement of Margaux wines today. Browse our selection and discover why Margaux is considered one of the greatest wine appellations in the world.

(12x75cl) 2017Jeb Dunnuck (90-93)
Château Desmirail looks to have turned out a sensational wine in the vintage, and their 2017 offers a forward, already irresistible style as well as loads of spicy red and black fruits, incense and spice aromas, and flavors. I love its purity of fruit, it has medium-bodied richness, and ripe tannin. Drink it on release and over the following 10-15 years.Inc. VAT£441.67 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (93)
The 2018 Desmirail impressed out of barrel. Now bottled, it still represents one of the best vintages that I have tasted from this Margaux estate. Gorgeous blackberry and raspberry scents feature on the nose, the new oak supportive and beautifully enmeshed. The palate is very well balanced with supple tannins, a keen line of acidity and a chalky-textured finish that is extremely well focused. This is a great success for Denis Lurton and his team. Tasted twice with consistent notes.Inc. VAT£464.81 -

The 2016 Deyrem Valentin is soft, plush and inviting. Dark cherry, chocolate, new leather, licorice and spice are pushed forward in a silky, supple Margaux that offers tremendous near and medium term appeal. Floral notes add brightness on the finish as the 2016 acquires a bit more finesse with time in the glass.Inc. VAT£335.50 -
(12x75cl) 2017Vinous - Antonio Galloni (90)
The 2017 Deyrem Valentin has come together nicely during élevage. It remains a bit light in body, and yet all the elements are very nicely balanced throughout. Crushed flowers, sweet red cherry fruit, mint, sweet tobacco and cedar add nuance throughout. There is a lot to like in this approachable, mid-weight Margaux.Inc. VAT£352.01 -

The 2018 Deyrem Valentin is very perfumed on the nose, offering blackberry, blueberry, touches of violet petal and light incense aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity, a silky-smooth texture and a vibrant, minerally finish that lingers. This is a gorgeous, finely tuned and precise Margaux that is going to give 20 years of drinking pleasure.Inc. VAT£278.41 -

The 2021 Deyrem Valentin contains more Cabernet this year at 75% of the blend. This really shows on the nose that is dark in fruit with lifted graphite and cedar aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, quite fresh, slightly chalky in texture, maybe missing just a little sensuality on the finish. It needs three years to fully absorb the oak. But there is a citrus element to this Margaux that I like, with satisfying length.Inc. VAT£197.60 -

(34% cabernet sauvignon, 33% merlot and 33% cabernet franc): Dark red with a hint of garnet at the rim. Complex aromas of dark berries, exotic herbs, clove, cocoa and menthol. At once fat and juicy, with harmonious acidity giving the wine's dark berry, underbrush and cocoa flavors terrific lift. Finishes smooth and dense, with a rich, ripe mouthfeel and excellent persistence. This very successful 1998 avoids the austere side of many other 1998 Bordeaux.Inc. VAT£737.35 -
Vinous - Ian D'Agata (92)
(31.5 g/l dry extract; 13.4% alcohol): Deep ruby to the rim; much darker than both the 2001 and the 2003. Notes of milk chocolate, underbrush and cedar complicate the ripe red cherry and dark plum aromas. Enters sweet, dense and tactile, displaying ripe dark fruit, tobacco, porcini and mineral flavors of noteworthy precision and cut thanks to harmonious acidity. Finishes sweet, spicy, smooth and very long; once again, du Tertre comes across as remarkably fresh and focused in a hot vintage.Inc. VAT£743.80 -

The 2005 du Tertre is a bold, savory wine, as it so often is. Game, scorched earth, licorice, tobacco and dried herbs give this dark, virile Margaux much of its distinctive personality. The 2005 has aged well. I would prefer to drink it over the next handful of years, before the fruit fully fades, even though there is enough density to allow for aging beyond that. Structurally, du Tertre is a bit lighter than most Margaux in 2005.Inc. VAT£645.10 -

A beautifully crafted wine that has both richness and sweetness. It brings together the fresh character of 2006 with more powerful elements, such as new wood and spice, enveloped plushly with ripe fruit. The tannins have a dark element, but fit well with the sweet fruit. All in all, a delicious wine that also has aging potential.Inc. VAT£496.60 -
