  • Clandestin Les Grandes Lignes Brut Nature NV (6x75cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (94)

The NV Champagne Les Grandes Lignes Brut Nature is peppery and bright, more linear and tense, with a compact, long, chalky focus, even in this warm 2020 vintage. It packs in a great deal of energy and intensity, and is more angular in structure, with a nervous and coiled tension. While I appreciate the structure, the other two are more enjoyable at this tasting, as this comes off a bit harsh and austere. They will no longer be working with this parcel in the future because the vineyard owner chose to use it for themselves. Disgorged in September of 2024. Drink 2027-2045.
  • Clandestin Les Revers Brut Nature 2020 (6x75cl)

Stemming from the prestigious vineyards of Cataluña, Spain is the captivating Clandestin Les Revers Brut Nature 2020. This artisanal organic wine, carefully crafted by the renowned viniculturist, Cellier des Demoiselles, boasts a meticulous method reminiscent of ancient wine practices. Femme viticole Unà, the mastermind behind these exceptional craft wines, focuses on preserving the natural integrity of the grapes, producing varietals that vibrate intensity and complexity.

The Clandestin Les Revers Brut Nature 2020 is an exceptional blend of traditional Catalan white grapes: Xarel·lo, Macabeo, and Parellada. Delicate hints of crisp apple, quince, and floral undertones distinguish its palate, beautifully rounded off by an alluring, bready yeastiness from its lengthy secondary fermentation. This zero-dosage sparkling wine, left undisgorged bestows a beautifully natural taste, remaining truthful to its terroir. Its finesse and sophistication authenticate this wine as an outstanding embodiment of Cataluña's wine tradition. Clandestin Les Revers Brut Nature 2020 is most definitely a wine for the discerning palate.

  • Clandestin Les Revers Brut Nature NV (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93)

The NV (2020) Brut Nature Les Revers, 100% Chardonnay, is quite potent in the glass. A blast of candied lemon peel, tangerine oil, white flowers and marzipan are all dialed up. This is an especially deep, vinous style typical of the Côte des Bars. A touch of reduction adds an idiosyncratic character, but is also at the limit for my own personal taste. No dosage. Disgorged: November 2023; multiple disgorgements throughout the year.
  • Clandestin Les Semblables Boreal Brut Nature 2021 (6x75cl)

Immerse yourself in the exquisite experience that is the Clandestin Les Semblables Boreal Brut Nature 2021. This Boreal Brut Nature is a testament to the sheer brilliance of their devotion to authenticity.

Made from Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes, it reflects the perfect balance between richness and freshness. The vinification process is carefully carried out using only native yeasts, and without any added sulphites, reflecting the true character of the terroir. The Clandestin Les Semblables Boreal Brut Nature 2021 teases the palate with seductive notes of ripe fruit, subtly followed by a pleasing mineral undertone. Savour this vintage that is a reflection of meticulous craftsmanship and exceptional quality, making every sip an affair to remember.

The 2016 Clarendelle is a very pretty, entry-level wine from Clarence Dillon's Clarendelle label. Dark cherry, mocha, spice are all laced throughout. Expressive floral notes add a closing touch of freshness to round things out. A gracious, everyday wine, the 2016 is terrific.
  • Clarke 2015 (6x75cl)
    (6x75cl) 2015

    Wine Advocate (90-92)

The 2015 Clarke has an attractive blackberry and briary scented nose with just a hint of dark chocolate emanating from the new oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, the acidity nicely judged with fine tension on the cedar and tobacco-tinged finish. I appreciate the freshness and refinement demonstrated by this Château Clarke, a classic Listrac that should give 10-12 years of pleasure.
  • Clarke 2020 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Neal Martin (91)

The 2020 Clarke has a classically-styled bouquet with strict blackberry, graphite and mint aromas that might lead you towards Pauillac instead of Listrac. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, well balanced with a fresh line of acidity. The oak is neatly assimilated on the finish that feels smooth and enticing. This is an excellent Château Clarke.

  • Clau de Nell Cuvee Violette 2016 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (93)

The 2016 Anjou Violette is deep, intense, very pure and elegant on the harmonious nose, with perfectly ripe dark and red berry aromas (blackcurrant) intertwined with floral aromas. Silky, finessed and fresh on the palate, this is a very delicate and charming blend of Cab Franc (two-thirds 45-year-old vines) and Cab Sauvignon (one-third 65-year-old vines) with perfectly ripe, concentrated but juicy fruit, a velvety and concentrated texture, very fine and crunchy tannins and enormous intensity, thanks to the low-yielding Cabernets. This is a beautifully finessed and silky-textured Anjou that reveals its concentration and depth only on the finish. The wine was aged in barrels for 18 months and then spent another six months in vat. Bottled in April 2017.
