Always 100% Grenache, from a fabulous terroir located right in the heart of the appellation, right next to Rayas, the 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape Lieu Dit Pignan is jaw droppingly good in the vintage, and I was shocked by its level of depth and concentration. Its deep purple color is followed by awesome notes of juicy black cherries, black raspberries, violets and tons floral aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, seamless, elegant and layered, with more mid-palate depth and texture, and just about every other wine in the vintage, hats off to the team at Chapoutier for this incredible effort!In Bond£220.00 -

The 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Lieu Dit Pignan is 100% Grenache from a lieu-dit that lies just next to Rayas, in the center of the appellation. It's a classic, structured 2015 that offers beautiful notes of blackberries, plums, licorice and roasted garrigue. Full-bodied, concentrated and structured, with enough tannin to warrant short-term cellaring, it's going to have 15-20 years of overall longevity.
